Earlier today authorities in Union County charged a 20-year-old Chatham, N.J. man with 1st degree Aggravated Sexual Assault and 2nd degree Sexual Assault after he engaged in a sexual relationship with a 12-year-old girl, said Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow.
John Grasso DOB: 2/10/1989 was arrested at his home in Morris County around 2 p.m. said Romankow. Grasso was previously employed at the Chatham community pool and the Y.M.C.A. in Summit.
According to the investigation, in June 2009 Grasso met the victim on the Internet and suggested the two meet in person. Between June 2009 – September 2009 Grasso met the victim several times in and around Union and Morris Counties and engaged in sexual acts with the victim.
Police were notified one of the victim’s parents became aware of the assaults. Detective Patricia Gusmano of the Union County Prosecutor Office conducted the investigation and Prosecutor Romankow commended her for a professional and thorough investigation.
Union County Superior Court Judge Robert J. Mega ordered Grasso held on $250,000 bail at the Union County Jail. He will make his first court appearance in the coming days.

These criminal charges are mere accusations.
