Man who helped nephew escape jail to be sentenced

 

ELIZABETH, N.J. – A Union County man who helped his nephew escape from the county jail earlier this year will be sentenced to prison tomorrow morning.

Last month, Charles Grecco DOB: 10/24/1980 of Rahway, pled guilty to 3rd degree facilitating an escape and faces up to three years in prison. He admitted to helping his nephew, Phillip Ruddy escape from the jail on June 29, 2009.

Grecco is scheduled to appear before Union County Superior Court Judge Robert J. Mega at 9 a.m.

Those wishing to bring cameras into the court room need to call (908) 659-4810 for permission.

Ruddy is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 18.
