The Union County Homicide Task Force and the Jersey City Police Department arrested a suspect wanted in connection with a July 31, 2009 homicide, announced Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow.
Police arrested Shaviaea Williams DOB: 1/27/1978 on Woodlawn Avenue in Jersey City just after 3 p.m., said Romankow.
Following the homicide, Williams, of Aberdeen, was quickly identified as the primary suspect in the case, said Romankow. Since then, detectives have worked constantly to locate Williams and affect an arrest. |
According to the investigation, police were called to 89 Bayway Avenue in Elizabeth around 4:15 a.m. on July 31, 2009 where they discovered Mark McDaniels DOB: 7/23/1969 unresponsive in a parking lot. He was later pronounced dead at the scene, said Romankow. McDaniels had been stabbed several times, according to Romankow.
“This is yet another example of how the Homicide Task Force works to quickly identify suspects and then make sure they stay on the trail until the job is done,” said Romankow.
Williams will be transferred to the Union County Jail and will be held on $750,000 bail. |
