Arrest Made in Plainfield Homicide

Members of the Union County Homicide Task Force arrested a 27-year-old Plainfield man this afternoon and charged him with the September 27, 2009 death of Dwayne Dunn, announced Union County Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow.

Phillip Patrick DOB: 11/30/1981 was arrested at 12:45 p.m. in Plainfield, said Romankow. Earlier today murder and weapons charges were filed against Mr. Patrick, after an investigation by Task Force Detective Robert Henderson identified Mr. Patrick as the primary suspect.

According to the Investigation, just after 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 27, Plainfield police responded to the intersection of East Third Street and Richmond Street on a report of an injured man.

Upon arrival, they discovered Dwayne Dunn (DOB: 3/4/1982) suffering from gun shot wounds. He was transported to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

State Parole Officer Shawn Dunphy provided assistance in making the arrest.

Union County Superior Court Judge Robert J. Mega set Mr. Patrick’s bail at $1 million, no cash alternative. He is currently being held at the Union County Jail and will have his first court appearance in the coming days.
