Members of the Union County Homicide Task Force have arrested a 21-year-old Plainfield man wanted in connection with the September 24, 2008 shooting death of Quran Carter, said Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow.
Hassan Alexander DOB: 4/28/1988 was arrested without incident on Friday evening on the 1000 block of West 3rd Street in Plainfield.
Following a through investigation that included the assistance of the Plainfield Police Department, Alexander was identified as the key suspect, said Romankow.
It was around 8:45 p.m. on Sept 24, 2008 when officers were called to the 3rd Street and Monroe Avenue where they discovered Quran Carter, 31, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to Robert Wood University Medical Center in New Brunswick where he was pronounced dead around 9:06 p.m., said Romankow.
It appears at this time that the shooting was gang related.

These criminal charges are mere accusations.
The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
