Man wanted in connection with April 2009 Homicide in Elizabeth

The Union County Homicide Task Force is asking the public’s assistance in locating an 18-year-old Elizabeth man wanted in connection with an April 2009 homicide that occurred at the Oakwood housing project.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Laquan Harris DOB: 4/25/1991 who investigators say is responsible for the shooting death of Antonio Davis AKA "Uncle Pete" inside a hallway of the building at 350 Irvington Ave in Elizabeth.

Police arrived on the scene shortly after 8 p.m. on April 13, where they discovered Davis, 27,with an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to University Hospital where he died a short time later, said Romankow.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Laquan Harris is urged to contact
Detective Jason Everitt of the Union County Homicide Task Force at 908-347-9176.

In addition, Union County Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for the arrest and indictment of Laquan Harris. Anyone with information may call the Crimestoppers Tipline (908) 654-TIPS. All calls are kept anonymous and confidential.

Prosecutors said that Harris should be considered armed and dangerous.

These criminal charges are mere accusations. The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
