Surrogate Announces Evening Office Hours for 2003

Union County Surrogate James S. LaCorte has announced his schedule for evening office hours in 2003.

Surrogate LaCorte will be available – by appointment – to meet with residents who have matters pending before the Surrogate’s Court. Appointments must be made at least 48 hours in advance. The evening office hours will continue to be:

§                     Cranford Community Center, 220 Walnut Avenue, the first Monday of the month;

§                     Rahway Recreation Center, 275 Milton Avenue, the second Tuesday;

§                     Union Township Municipal Building, 1976 Morris Avenue, the third Wednesday;

§                     Summit City Hall, 512 Springfield Ave., the fourth Thursday.

“I’m pleased to continue my practice of meeting with residents in need who may be unable to come to my regular office hours at the Union County Courthouse during the day,” Surrogate LaCorte said.

As the County Surrogate, LaCorte is responsible for probating wills and appointing executors, administrators, guardians and trustees of decedents’ estates, among other constitutionally mandated duties.

“We will continue to work to make using the services of the Surrogate’s office as convenient and stress-free an experience as possible,” Surrogate LaCorte said.
