SURROGATE LaCORTE TO SCHEDULE
SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS FOR 2004

Union County Surrogate James S. LaCorte is available to speak with community groups and civic organizations about the importance of wills and estate planning. Surrogate LaCorte frequently meets with these organizations and others as part of an initiative to better educate the public about these important issues and related topics.

As the County Surrogate, LaCorte is responsible for probating wills and appointing executors, administrators, guardians and trustees of decedents’ estates, among other constitutionally mandated duties. Before being elected in 1999, Surrogate LaCorte was an attorney in private practice.

“Educating the public about these important issues and listening to their concerns is a significant part of my job as Union County Surrogate,” he said. “The importance of having a proper last will and testament cannot be overstated.”
