CLARK, NJ – The Union County Summer Arts Festival concert series for 2010 concludes on Wednesday, August 25, with a performance by Jimmy and the Parrots. The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders, led by Chairman Daniel P. Sullivan, invites the public to attend this free outdoor concert of popular music in the style of Jimmy Buffett, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Oak Ridge Park in the Township of Clark. Grab your beach chair or a blanket and embark on a musical trip to the islands with one of the most requested cover bands in the country. Jimmy and the Parrots perform not only the great Buffett tunes, but also classic rock and popular songs by the likes of Paul Simon, the Beach Boys, Harry Belafonte and Bob Marley, too. For more than nine years they’ve entertained music lovers in the West Indies, Jamaica, Key West and cities up and down the East Coast. The Union County information van will be at the concert site with knowledgeable staff from the Union County Police, the Division of Emergency Management, and the Bureau of Environmental Health to answer questions and offer information about interesting activities and services available to Union County residents. Lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets are encouraged. Refreshments and snacks will be available from vendors. In case of rain, call the Union County Department of Parks and Community Renewal at |
