The RUNNELLS Specialized Hospital Foundation will magically transform Mt. Carmel Hall, 56 River Road, Berkeley Heights into an Atlantic City-style casino for a benefit on Friday, March 26th. The Casino Night’s games of chance feature blackjack, poker as well as roulette at regulation tables, all manned by professional croupiers. The event runs from 7 to 11:30 p.m.
Each individual receives $100 in gaming “money”, catered hors d’oeuvres, desserts fashioned and donated by Philip Serrani of Orange Sanitary Bakery and coffee for their ticket price of $50 per person (seniors $25 each). There will be a cash bar and additional gaming money may be purchased. The evening’s finale will be a tricky tray auction. Attendees then use their winnings to purchase chances to try for their favorite prizes. Your number might be called for special items including: a wide screen TV; 3 days/2 nights in Las Vegas (air fare and hotel included); a golf foursome at one of Union County’s golf courses and tickets to professional sporting events.
“The goal of the RUNNELLS SpecializedHospital Foundation is to assist in creating a better quality of life for the patients and residents of RUNNELLS,” stated Union County Freeholder Mohamed S. Jalloh, RUNNELLS liaison. “The Foundation’s immediate goal is to continue refurbishing the facility’s nursing care courtyard including the construction of a permanent “canopy” over the center area which would shield residents and guests from the sun and a re-design of the landscaping.”
Any individual or company may become an event sponsor. Sponsors will each have a sign displayed at the event, promoting your business or honoring a special person.
“If you would like to contribute prizes for the tricky tray auction including gift baskets, tickets and gift certificates or be a sponsor as well as order tickets, call (908) 771- 5803,” Freeholder Jalloh added. “We look forward to hearing from you soon.”
