Union County Freeholder Bette Jane Kowalski (R) listens as Karen Inzillo, a naturalist with the Union County Trailside Nature and Science Center, speaks about tiny wildlife in a pond in Elizabeth River Park during “Bio-Blitz 2008” on Kean University’s East Campus in Hillside. A Bio-Blitz is a 24-hour sampling of the flora and fauna in a particular location with the twin goals of studying the biodiversity of the area and making the public aware of that diversity.
